Data licences and attribution
Version 2026-10-11 · TerraTopic Folkedal · Org. no. 933 307 956Your order has its own source record
We process and package terrain data from the selected elevation and imagery sources for use in your chosen format. Your receipt and package identify their licence terms and required attribution. Read those records for your particular order; a general website statement cannot turn restricted imagery into open data or replace a source-specific permission.
Open data stays open
Where a source is public domain or supplied under an open licence, your rights under that source licence remain. Keep required attribution, licence links and notices of modifications. Share-alike or redistribution duties apply where the actual source licence requires them. TerraTopic does not impose a universal prohibition on commercial use or redistribution of open data.
Maps are not automatically delivery sources
Being able to view a basemap does not give permission to purchase or redistribute its tiles as a terrain texture. Map-preview terms and delivery-source terms are assessed separately. We offer a source for processing and packaging only through its recorded licence and eligibility checks. Contact anders@terratopic.com if a credit is missing, a permission looks wrong or you want to report a rights issue.
Software names and outputs
References to Unreal Engine, Unity, Cities: Skylines and other tools describe intended compatibility; they do not imply endorsement. Your own software licences still apply. The order describes the delivered format and source-derived detail, rather than guaranteeing that every version or third-party modification will support it.
